Honoring: Dr. Leslie Sutton; Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

My neurosurgeon is Dr. Leslie Sutton from CHOP. I think it is truly awesome that he touched my brain. I asked him once how he knew where to put my shunt ans he said "years of experience and luck." I think I am lucky to have Dr. Sutton as my neurosurgeon because 14 yrs. after my shunt placement in my brain it has not been replaced.

I did have a partial revision at 6 yrs. old because of appendicitis. My mom thinks Dr. Sutton's hands are guided by a higher power.

I sometimes hear people joke and say, "it isn't brain surgery" but what Dr. Sutton and all neurosurgeons do IS brain surgery.

I can't think of anything more daunting than that.

Dr. Sutton has inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field. I don't know that I have the hands to be a neurosurgeon.

I hope my doctor wins because it will be my way to say thank you. I don't really know how you can say thank you enough to the person who saved my life and gave me the great life I have today.
