My daughter started her life spending alot of time in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She has congenital hydrocephalus, and my husband and I knoew this from her 16th week of gestation, in utero. She also has other brain and spinal malformations. She also has a very normal twin sister and older brother. As you can imagine, I was a very physically drained mother recovering from a c-section, and my husband was just as bad, because he was doing all the running around. No one was getting any sleep.
So, begins our introduction with Dr. Philip Storm. Via the phone, as I was still in the hospital, and my child was in transport to be shunted, Dr. Storm explaned every thing to me, and the possible outcomes, and where Lavender would be staying in the Niccu.
We have been to CHOP so many times, at every possible time of day, early morning, late after noon, late night, mid night, and somehow, Dr. Storm is always there. I think he must have an apartment somewhere in the hospital. He personally sees Lavender for her consultations, and interacts with her. We are very greatful for every thing he has done for her, for always being there for her. Thanks so much, Dr. Philip Storm!
