Justin was born three and one half months early and when he was just a few days old, had a grade 3 brain bleed. Dr. Ciricillo was called in and so has been Justin's neurosurgeon his entire life.

Justin was first shunted at two and one half months and he did so well, we were beginning to believe that he would never have a malfunction, although Dr. Ciricillo always tried to prepare us for this at every visit. After 7 1/2 years, on July 23, 2010, Justin's shunt failed and he had four surgeries in a thirteen week period.

Dr. Ciricillo has always treated us with respect and compassion. He has a good relationship with his little patients and he and his wonderful PA, Rosemary Forster truly care about them. We have the utmost confidence in Dr. Ciricillo. Also, the entire PICU staff at Sutter Memorial has always treated us like royalty. We believe Dr. Ciricillo and Sutter Memorial Hospital deserve this award.
