Titan Heath Thomas, Age 8

Titan was born with what you call an encephalocele pocket on the back of his head that had non working brain tissue and spinal fluid accumulating inside. After removal at only 8 days old we discovered (6 months later) that he had developed hydrocephalus due to the spinal fluid backing up into his top ventricles.

He had his VP Shunt implanted when he was a little over a year old and has had it ever since! He is such a kind, loving and smart kid and we are so incredibly grateful to have him here with us!

We call him Mighty Titan because a child that can go through what he did, HAS to be strong and mighty! #HydrocephalusAwareness
