The PHF Raises $6,000.00 for ‘Baby Klaus’ and Visits Baby and Family in San Antonio to Present Check and Celebrate First Christmas
Woodbridge, NJ – The story of ‘Baby Klaus’ and his battle against severe Hydrocephalus captivated the Nation in the beginning of the month. Sheri Burdine and her Hydro Angels Over Texas organization stepped in and got ‘Baby Klaus’ the medical attention he needed, which resulted in an onslaught of media coverage and attention about ‘Baby Klaus’ and Hydrocephalus.
The Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation, Inc. was touched by the story and pledged to help ‘Baby Klaus’ and the Hydro Angels Over Texas organization.
During a fundraising effort, the PHF promised to match dollar for dollar any donations received up to a total of $2,500.00. Thanks to the friends, family and members of the PHF, a total of $6,000.00 was raised.
Last week, PHF’s President Kim Illions traveled to San Antonio, Texas to visit with ‘Baby Klaus’, his family, and Hydro Angels over Texas’ founder Sheri Burdine, to present her with a check for $6,000.00 to assist the family of ‘Baby Klaus’.
‘Baby Klaus’ celebrated his first Christmas, and Sunday was his 1st birthday. The Hospital where ‘Baby Klaus’ is being cared for, the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, held a private Christmas Party for ‘Baby Klaus’, his family, Doctors & staff, where Kim Illions presented Sheri and the family with the check for $6,000.00.
“I was extremely overwhelmed by the amount of love and kindness being shown to Baby Klaus and his family by the staff at the hospital and Sheri Burdine of Hydro Angels Over Texas. I was so proud to be able to present the organization with a check for $6000.00 for Baby Klaus, raised by the generous members of the PHF, Inc. My heart is changed forever by this wonderful experience,” said Kim Illions.
During the celebration, Sheri Burdine presented the PHF with an appreciation plaque for their efforts and said, “It was amazing to have the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation coordinate and raise $6,000.00 dollars for our organization in honor of “Baby Klaus” and to have the president of PHF fly to Texas to be with us for our celebration. Our two organizations partnering for this cause was simply magical. Kim and Michael are the most loving, generous people I have ever met. They walk the walk and talk the talk and are true HERO’S to Hydro Angels Over Texas.”
