On Monday May 22, the members of Olive Branch Lodge No. 16 Free and Accepted Masons (F & A M) in Freehold made a donation to the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation.
On Monday, May 14, the Vice President and National Director of Advocacy for the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation, Michael Illions, visited the Durand Lodge No 179 Free and Accepted Masons in Point Pleasant to speak to the members of the organization about Hydrocephalus, an incurable brain condition, which affects his own 7-year-old son Cole, who attended the meeting.
On Wednesday, Michael spoke at the Navesink Lodge No. 9 Free and Accepted Masons in Red Bank and was joined by Josh Stein, a 20 year old with Hydrocephalus, and son of Mr. Fred Stein, one of the members of the Navesink organization.
At the conclusion of each presentation and the Q & A session that followed, the Worshipful Master, of each location, presented a check on behalf of the organization to be used as a donation towards the PHF’s mission of funding research projects for Hydrocephalus.
“I am extremely grateful to the members of the Durand & Navesink Lodge’s for their generous donations and especially for the opportunity to speak with them about Hydrocephalus and raise the level of awareness of this neglected brain condition”, Michael Illions said.
